Located in Metairie, LA, Shyan’s Kitchen is a Pakistani-Indian restaurant, owned and operated by Irfan Khan. Irfan Khan had emigrated to New Orleans in 2007 from Kashmir and used to run a small Pakistani restaurant named ‘Salt N Pepper’ on Iberville Street. He felt the tourist-packed French Quarter wasn’t the right place for such a restaurant and sold it last fall knowing that he would eventually open another restaurant.
Khan later on quietly opened his new restaurant, Shyan’s Kitchen at 3320 Houma Blvd. in Metairie a few months ago inside the former Toni’s Restaurant and Bar. This brand new restaurant serves classic Indian and Pakistani food and feels more personal than his previous restaurant according to Khan. His vision was a family-style restaurant for families in the area, which he realized with Shyan’s Kitchen.
